They Say Gen Z & Millennials Are Choosing Life Over Stability - Are They Right?

Okay pop that quote into Google and you’ll find… a big fat nothing. We made it up. But hey, it got your attention - and maybe that’s because it feels true.

Scroll through TikTok, overhear conversations at brunch, or even look in the mirror, and you’ll notice something: people are swapping the rat race for real life.

And the numbers back it up (real ones this time). A Travel Weekly article showed that nearly three in four (71%) of under-30s would rather spend money on travel than property over the next year. That’s not just Gen Z chaos either—65% of 31–50 year-olds and 51% of over-50s said the same. Turns out, everyone’s craving a little less pressure and a lot more presence.

So what’s going on?

Maybe it’s burnout. Maybe it’s the cost of living. Maybe we just realised we don’t want to wake up at 45 with a mortgage, a high-res LinkedIn headshot, and no idea what makes us feel alive.

The world has changed. And whether that’s because of a pandemic, inflation, or just the general chaos of being a human in 2025… who’s to say? What we do know is this: people want more meaning, more connection, and more living in their lives.

Enter: Pallz.

We’re not here to preach about ditching your 9–5 and running off to live in a van (unless that’s your vibe, in which case, we fully support). But we are here to make it easier to say yes to plans, to people, to moments that turn into memories.

Because the truth is, building a beautiful life doesn’t always come from spreadsheets and KPIs. Sometimes it looks like joining a hike with total strangers on a Sunday morning. Sometimes it’s signing up for a ceramics class and laughing your way through making a wobbly bowl. Sometimes it’s making a new friend that feels like you’ve known them for years.

Pallz is the place to make that happen. We’re all about turning “we should catch up sometime” into real-life hangs. No small talk, no pressure, just a space to connect with people who get it.

So whether you're skipping the property ladder to climb a mountain instead, or just looking for a crew to see a movie with—you're not alone. You're just choosing life. And honestly? We love that for you.

Now go make a memory. We’ll be here when you need a pal.
